Young people at Castle Douglas High School raised £500 to donate to the charity CRY.
House captains present a cheque for £500 to Rodger and Lesley Hill along with the young people who accompanied them cycling from Castle Douglas High School to Kirkcudbright Academy.
Dear Castle Douglas High School Community
It was great to catch up with you and to meet some of the cyclists who joined us on our fund raising cycle.
I write to say a huge thank you for supporting the CRY Cycle4David event. Thank you for seeing us off on Tuesday the 12th March and for supplying such a great team of cyclists, who joined us to Kirkcudbright. Please pass on my thanks to all who were involved. Thank you too for the magnificent fundraising cheque for David’s Fund.
In all, we covered 322 miles from Edinburgh to Dublin, with up to 25 different cyclists, along with pupils and teachers from many schools, through all types of weather (mostly wet though). Wednesday 17th April, is David’s birthday and we will be revealing the total raised through all the activities around the cycle. However, what I can say is that it is an amazing amount which will support the improvement of cardiac health in young people across Dumfries and Galloway.
Tomorrow bookings will open for the first cardiac screening sessions in David’s name on 18th/19th May in Dumfries (www.testmyheart.org.uk ) which is a significant moment.
Thank you again to Castle Douglas High School for your support.
Kind regards
Rodger Hill
